Gator Bites - Week of September 7, 2015

What to expect of Gator Bites

We will use this digital platform this year to communicate current and upcoming events and information for all stakeholders interested in River Bluff High School. We will post and send out each week to communicate with you. Go Gators!

Gators of the Week - Work hard. Get smart. Do good.

Gators of the Week: Students in OCP visit the State Farmer's Market for Vegetables

Work hard. This past week students in Ms. Johansson and Ms. Johnston's class visited the State's Farmer's Market to purchase and create vegetable baskets for customers on campus. Teachers and staff can purchase a basket each week of fresh vegetables. Great job students.

Gators of the Week: Law Center Students Meet Senator Tim Scott

Get Smart: Students within the Center for Law and Global Policy Development had a rare chance to meet one of our US Senators Mr. Tim Scott and also visit the National Advocacy Center. Learning by doing is part of the experience each week.

Gators of the Week: Volleyball Teams Inspires MGES!

Do good. The River Bluff High School Varsity Volleyball team had the distinct honor to speak to elementary students at Meadow Glen Elementary School about the importance of academics and athletics. They shared our vision of making an IMPACT and took pictures with the students. What a great example of giving back to our feeder schools.

EL Design Principle in Action

The Responsibility for Learning

Learning is both a personal process of discovery and a social activity. Everyone learns both individually and as part of a group. Every aspect of an Expeditionary Learning school encourages both children and adults to become increasingly responsible for directing their own personal and collective learning.

As we enter the fourth week of school, it has been amazing seeing students taking advantage of the ILT to learn in different spaces and places on campus and to engage fully in the new CREW design for this year following the four case study questions. We are excited to see the future of this development.
