The Eagles' Nest
November 2018
From the Principal's Point of View...
Dear Eagleville Families,
We have reached the first milestone of the school year! The first marking period has officially ended! The students and staff continue to work extremely hard, and examples of their work adorn the walls of classrooms and hallways. October is behind us now. Thank you to everyone who came out to the costume parade. The students had a blast! I appreciate your understanding regarding the RSVP safety measures that were implemented. We will follow a similar format when planning for future events.
November is a busy month! We will host our Veteran’s Day assembly at 9:45AM on Nov. 9th, which promises to be a delightful time. We will also host Parent Visitation Day on Nov. 13th during American Education Week. We hope you can stop in to meet Dr. Kochenour, acting principal, when you visit. Finally, reminder that parent/teacher conferences will take place in the afternoon on November 20-21. Please check your child’s book bag for the flyers and send them back to school asap. We encourage you to attend conferences to find out how your child is progressing. Report cards will be available on the portal on Nov. 12th.
A reminder about CAR LINE. All families who use the car line should have a placard on their rearview mirror. If you need a placard, please send in a note, and we will send the form home with your child. The placard assists the car line staff in knowing who is permitted to pick up students, and also helps us move the car line more expeditiously. Please hang your car line placard.
Fall is definitely upon us, and the weather has gotten chilly. Please make sure your child wears a jacket. The students go outside for recess daily, weather permitting, and they are not permitted to re-enter the building once they go outside. So, please equip your child by insisting he/she dresses warmly. Also, please put your child’s name inside his/her jacket so it can returned if it is misplaced. Moreover, please consider sending in an extra sweatshirt or sweater to keep in the cubby in case it becomes cool in your child’s room.
I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Please contact our school counselor, Ms. Shaw, if you are in need of any help as we enter the holiday season. Cherish the time with your family! Take care!
Your partner in education,
Dr. Zanthia Reddish, Principal
