Classroom News!
Our Family unit has given your children opportunities to learn about who is in a family, identifying the people in their family, and acknowledging that every family is special. There is a Kindergarten family tree on one of our bulletin boards. In our block area we have a lovely wooden house, some furniture and play-people as accompanying props.
We read a story called, "We Are Alike, We Are Different." After the story the children got into pairs and interviewed each other to come up with some things that were the same and different about them. Our versions of these books will be coming home. Please read them with your children!
Conversation Starters
* Read "We Are Alike, We Are Different" books.
* What does it mean to "hit the sack?"
* Interview your parents to find out what they do during the day when you are at school.
* What is the Friendship Crown? Hint: see the last photo at the bottom of the page.
Fun Things To Do At Home
* Practice writing your first name using only one upper case letter.
* Read the poem of the week - " The Family"
* Look at family photo albums together.
Important Message
Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to the Great Harvest Bread Company on Tuesday, November 18. We will leave school promptly at 9:30 AM and return at around 11:30AM.
