Early Life

Martin Luther King, Jr., (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968) was born Michael Luther King, Jr., but later had his name changed to Martin. He had attended segregated public schools in Georgia, graduating from high school at the age of 15.

Who was he and What he did?

Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Public speaker during the period of the civil rights movement. King was very well known for his great speech "I have a dream!", which in that he had spoke about how he wanted the union to turn into and become great again.

King was seeing the possibility of an America where black and white citezens were truly equal, that Martin luther king joined in the fight for civil rights for black Americans.

His Death

Martin Luther King Jr was shot while standing on the balcony outside his second story room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis,Tennessee. King was pronounced dead after his arrival at a Memphis hospital at the age of 39 years old.

Why and Who Killed Martin Luther King

James Earl Ray was a confirmed racist and small time criminal, that had began plotting the assassination of revered civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr in early 1968 he had shot and killed KIng in Memphis on April 4 1968, confessing to the crime the following March. Ray had the passed away in prison on April 23 1998. He was in prison for 30 years.
