This event took place in little rock Arkansas on September 4, 1957. The supreme court ruled that the high school was going to be integrated.On the first day that the little rock nine was supposed to go to school the Governor deployed the national guard to stand with the white protesters to prevent the little rock nine from entering the school. The little rock nine were scared and went home.
After president Eisenhower heard about what the governor has done he deployed the US army to little rock Arkansas to protect the little rock nine. On the first day the students were surrounded by soldiers all the way till the end of the year. But one of the nine couldn't take it and left to a school in New York and out of the eight that were left only one graduated
The local leader of the NAACP's name was Daisy Bates. She recruited the little rock nine. The lawyer representing the case of brown VS education was Thurgood marshall.
