AEB Summer Band 2017

All members of the 2017-2018 Akins Band start July 31st!

It is hard to believe, but it is already time to get started with the 2017-2018 school year for the Akins High School Band!

The scheduling information on this document is critical for all members of the 2017-2018 edition of the Akins Eagle Band.

If, for any reason, you were not able to attend Music Camp in June...NO PROBLEM! Come to the Akins Band Hall on July 31st at 7am and we will get you setup.

Note: If you have a friend who did not attend Music Camp, but is wanting to be in band at Akins HS, please have them contact us immediately!

All rehearsals are required of all members of AEB. Conflicts and/or excused absences should be communicated early so alternate plans can be made.

Summer Band Rehearsal Schedule

July 31 through August 4

Daily Schedule
  • 7:00am to 11:00am - Outside
  • 11:00am to 12:00pm - Lunch (on campus)
  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm - Inside

August 7 through August 12

Daily Schedule
  • 7:00am to 11:00am - Outside
  • 11:00am to 12:00pm - Lunch (on campus)
  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm - Inside

August 14 through August 16

Daily Schedule
  • 5:00pm to 9:00pm - Outside

Shopping Day

Shopping Day

Every member of AEB needs to take care of fees and finances on a Shopping Day.

  • Sophomores and Juniors - Saturday, August 5th from 8:00am to 12:00pm
  • Freshmen and Seniors - Saturday, August 12th from 8:00am to 12:00pm

On Shopping Day, parents and students are required to attend to pay all band/guard related fees for the year. Students will also be sized for any new clothing that they may need.

Detailed cost information will be coming in another e-mail and will be available on the band website.

Remember...finances will never prevent a student from participating. We will work with all students on fundraising and plans to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be a part of AEB!

Marching Band Rehearsal Weekly Schedule

The weekly rehearsal schedule changes from week to week based on when Football games occur, holidays, and contests.

The best way to know what the schedule looks like is to use the band calendar on the band website and/or subscribe to the calendar. All marching band events are listed under the "AEB Main" calendar. You can select different calendars using the drop down in the upper right hand corner.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to give a static calendar that never changes...but all dates and times are updated in real time.

All performances are required of all members of AEB. There are no excused absences from performances except: severe illness or death in the family.

Football Games

The Akins Eagle Band performs at all varsity football games, home and away.
