This Week's Announcements
Parent Survey
We know that every child has unique strengths, talents, and gifts. Academic brilliance is only one example of such a gift. Other examples include ambition, curiosity, persistence, organization, courage, coordination, patience, cooperation, and creativity, to name a few.
Thank you!
PTA
You can find more information on the PTA website.
Thank you for supporting your child's education.
Data Collection
Every year, parents/guardians need to complete a process called Data Confirmation. This process is the equivalent of a first day packet and it is fully electronic - it should be completed before school starts.
This needs to be completed before students can check out library books or use Chromebooks or iPads!
The Data Confirmation process is done through your Parent Portal (https://my.iusd.org). When you log in to the Parent Portal you will see a yellow message at the top that says, "you have not completed your data confirmation...". Please take the time to read each section and acknowledge accordingly. There are important releases for your child such as field trip forms (including a walking field trip that allows our students to access the nearby park with their teacher), library book check out, and a Technology Use Agreement.
Data Confirmation needs to be done for each child in your family that attends an IUSD school. Make sure to confirm after completing each part of the confirmation and finally submitting it at the end. Here are some instructions to help you along the way: https://support.iusd.org/hc/en-us/articles/115012794048-Parent-Data-Confirmation-Instructions.
Severe Allergies
As many of you may know, allergies to peanuts, nut products, and other foods are not uncommon in our student population. If a child has a severe food allergy and comes in contact with the allergen through ingestion, inhalation, or direct contact, a severe allergic reaction, known as anaphylaxis, may occur. This type of allergic reaction can be life-threatening.
Please read the letter below that helps explain how we can make our school environment safe for all of our students.
Back to School Night
More information on the evening's schedule will be coming home from Principal Jetzer. We encourage students to please attend Back to School Night with their parents.
Science Pilot Program
For more information on how we will be implementing these programs into our science curriculum this year, please read the letter below.
