Director’s Notes
We are excited to announce that the GMS PTA has awarded a grant to the GMS Theatre Department! We cannot express our gratitude enough for their tremendous contribution. Because of their support, we will now be able to implement a filmmaking curriculum for our students including: acting for the camera, lighting for film, editing, sound production, and more.
From all of us at GMS Theatre...
Thank you PTA for supporting our students!
*** THE REVIEWS ARE IN ***
On Wednesday, the GMS Playbill Theatre Company competed in the 2020 GCISD Middle School UIL One Act Play Festival, and the results were astounding.
Students received comments immediately after their performance such as, "this was the best show of the day. It was ran smoother than any other show technically, and the audience responded to this one the most." High School directors gave comments such as "in the 13+ years we've been here, we've never seen anything as good as this."
The highest rating of a show given at UIL is the rating of Superior, and that is what GMS Theatre walked away with at the end of the day.
Outstanding Technician was awarded to our Stage Manager, Sarah D.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to cast members Kingston D. and Kayli H.
All-Star Cast awards were given to Boston S. and James P. for their performances.
And the Best Actor award, for the entire contest, was given to Gavin B.
