Student Walkout
SHS participated in the nationwide 17-minute student walkout in remembrance of the one month mark of the Parkland, FL Valentine's day incident.
From Mrs. Yost:
Students traveled to the Apple Store at Lenox Mall for a programming Field Trip to create their own podcasts. Students used this learning experience to get trained by an Apple expert on using GarageBand to create their own content as an Engage experience of the E3 model.
From Dr. J:
Ms. Lewis’ second block and my AP Biology classes joined a Google hangout session yesterday along with other classrooms from different locations, hosted by Mr. Jesse and the speaker was an environmental engineer Mr. Simon from Australia. He gave us a Global perspective of Water with his first hand project experiences in various work sites like Cambodia, Australia, Africa and California.
From Mr. Slaven:
We are currently 4-0 in the region (which makes us number 1 in the region!) and 6-2 overall! This is already turning out to be a historic season for Stockbridge High School so I encourage all of you to come out and support our Boys and Girls Soccer teams!

Counseling Department
-Counselors are in the process of preparing course requests for current Stockbridge students as well as rising 9th graders who will come to us in the Fall from our feeder middle schools. Copies of course requests for the 18/19 school year IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE.
-The Spring sessions of Signs of Suicide training for all 9th graders are currently underway and will be completed by March 2018.
-Preparations are underway for Georgia mandated Bridge Bill advisement with all students grades 9 through 12. More information will be disseminated over the coming weeks.
-All students are encouraged to submit their college acceptances to the counseling department as they receive them. A display wall and weekly announcements will highlight these seniors and their academic achievements.
-KITT Institute young women leadership program has reconvened for their third training session of the year.
-Congratulates to all SHS Tigers who worked hard, focused themselves and finished the course in time to graduate high school early! We are proud of these ambitious scholars!

Attached is an “Everyday Preventive Action” plan that can assist in fighting the spread of germs such as the FLU. As well as a “Too Sick for School” information sheet. Please take the time out to read the attached flyers especially since we are in "flu season". Also a reminder that no student should be wearing a mask unless they have provided documentation to the clinic and have received approval from an administrator. Please feel free to contact the clinic if you have any additional concerns or questions. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
