Social Media - Some Helpful Reminders
Social Media - the Benefits!
If you don't have a class or group social media and your administrator of your school is ok with it, consider adding it this year!
I have seen so many great recruitment, project sharing, digital concerts, and more as a result of these powerful tools that we have at our fingertips! It is definitely worth asking about if you have not already done so.
**I really can't express enough how important our positive, public presence is, especially in these strange days. Seeing amazing things that are happening in the arts is more important than ever before. Set up a Social Media Account for your program and BRAG, BRAG, BRAG because you are doing amazing things!
Social Media - the Perks!
The ideas coming out of these groups are literally genius! Necessity is the mother of invention and we are seeing that more than ever these days!
**Beware of the grumpies! They are out there for sure. I have had to make myself ignore some of it because everyone seems to be stuck in the "gloom and doom" and I just don't think we need that in our lives. Just because a school district in south GA is doing XYZ or a school in New Jersey is yada, yada, yada...doesn't mean that we are. Use your brain, do your research, and don't let Negative people tear you down.
God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and wise discretion.
2 Timothy 1:7
Social Media - the Dangers!
A few things to consider before posting:
- Is my opinion necessary here? Am I just opening a can of worms or feeding a beast?
- Is this really a "private" conversation? Online teacher platforms are PACKED with people and you never know who they are!
- Does this shed a positive light on your field, your school, your county, your state? Do we need more negativity against education and should it come from one of its own?
- Is what I want to say respectful of everyone who might read it? Will my post/response change anyone's mind or better the conversation?
- Is this picture something I would want to be known for?
- Is it true? Is it hearsay?
- Is this post a solution to a problem or a Tuesday gripe?

PTA Reflections Update
The trophies were also stuck sitting in an empty trophy shop for two months and those are now in my possession as well.
SO - today (Monday, 5/18), I am sorting and organizing those things and will be delivering items to the schools over the course of the next week.
If anyone wants to know where there Reflections entries, trophies are located, they should be at your individual schools NEXT WEEK. I am trying to get the word to PTA local boards so you can help pass that along if you get asked.
