The finals will be held at Crump Stadium during Alief Proud Day festivities.
Alief ISD graduate Simon Silva was named finalist in the Sports Action Photo of the Year category by the National Scholastic Press Association.
His photo is considered to be one of the top 10 across the entire country. Top 5 winners will be announced at the JEA/NSPA Fall Convention in Chicago in November. Silva graduated from Hastings in 2008.
