SLP Online 7/8 Families,
Trimester 2 has officially started! Please make sure that your child is checking their Schoology page for key updates on things like class times for online sections. We made a few shifts to our in-person schedule at Westwood and that has impacted when teachers are able to teach online. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the teacher directly!
Report cards will be available to families in Campus Parent Portal starting this Friday, December 10 at the end of the school day. Learn how to access report cards in the Need to Know section. Students will be awarded a certificate for 7th and 8th grade honor roll prior to break.
- A Honor Roll requirements: Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement - 3.70 - 4.0
- B Honor Roll requirements: Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement - 2.70 - 3.699
Below are a few reminders from last week’s newsletter about a couple of report card markings:
- Students receive a grade of NY (Not Yet) for any courses where they have submitted evidence of learning but have not demonstrated proficiency in their learning to result in a grade of A, B, C, or D. Students who end Trimester 1 with a grade of NY will continue with the learning in trimester 2 to acquire the academic outcomes until they demonstrate proficiency on course learning outcomes that result in a grade of A, B, C, or D.
- Students will receive a grade of NE (No Evidence) for any courses where they have submitted no or limited evidence of learning in Trimester 1. Students who end Trimester 1 with a grade of NE will continue with the learning in trimester 2 to acquire the academic outcomes until they demonstrate proficiency on course learning outcomes that result in a grade of A, B, C, or D.
We have 12 days in this second trimester before our Winter Break. There is no school December 23-31. School resumes after winter break on Monday, January 3.
Have a great week!

Winter weather protocols
Winter weather has arrived! While we’ve seen only a few flakes, we know more will be on the way. Please take some time to review our approach to school closings and alerts in response to weather and follow the direction there to update your contact information in Campus Parent Portal. Email, text, voicemail and the SLP app are used to communicate any closings or adjustments to schedules due to weather.
Unless you receive a direct communication from SLP, assume school is in session. There are four primary scenarios possible with winter weather and school closings:
Schools are closed for the day.
Schools are released early.
Schools have a delayed start.
Schools buildings are closed and there is a flexible learning day with learning continuing online using Schoology and/or Seesaw.
Our goal is to always have school in session. Visit the school closings and alerts page to learn more about our winter weather protocols.
