Superintendent's Update
School Leaders of the Diocese of Cleveland,
Alleluia! He is Risen! May Easter joy and blessings be upon you, your communities, and your families.
I send greetings from Chicago, where many educators of our diocese are gathering with others from around the U.S.A. for the National Catholic Education Association convention. Our school leadership team will be here together this week, but still accessibly by email or voice mail as available.
Read on below for just a few brief notes and reminders this Monday of the Octave of Easter.

Interdisciplinary Literacy - free professional development
What is disciplinary literacy? Understanding the literacies of math, science, social studies, and literature
Exciting new research shows that learning to read and write is more than just learning
general strategies—there are subject-specific literacies. Educators from elementary
school through college who understand how different disciplines’ literacies work will be
better prepared to help their students read and write like mathematicians, scientists,
historians, and literary critics. Attendees will earn 2 hours of professional development.
Saturday, May 4, 10am – noon, John Carroll Admin Building Room 303
Breakfast will be provided and attendees are welcome to gather for lunch nearby afterwards.
Presented by Dr. Dan Reynolds, JCU Assistant Professor of Literacy Education
Sponsored by the Notre Dame Club of Cleveland in partnership with the Notre Dame College and Cleveland ACE Advocates. All are welcome.
