DECA THRIVES AT DISTRICT 5 COMPETITION

On Tuesday, January 17th, 24 CHS students participated in the District 5 DECA competition at ASU. At the end of competition, 15 Wolves were on stage earning 28 medals. Congratulations to Alexis Marchand, Riley Whitt, Kameron Dawson, Damijah Carter, Lexi Hicks, Aidan Eckstein, Natalie Chappa, Amaya Hurd, Briana Leon, Chris Notah, Brandon Tran, Haydon Bergren, Cameron Zarnich, Lili Alarcon, and Trey Lewis. Mrs. Kim Frahm is their sponsor.

CHOIRS WIN BIG IN SAN ANTONIO

Congratulations to CHS’s Treblemakers and Men’s Choir for their outstanding performance in San Antonio at the Barbershop Harmony Society Competition last week. Treblemakers won 1stplace and Men’s Choir 2nd place for Plateau A. The Treblemakers were also voted Audience Favorite. The choirs are under the direction of Ms. Lori Lyford.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON

CHS’s Academic Decathlon, under the direction of Mrs. Carol Gould, competed in the Williams Field Invitational on January 13th and 14th. The team spent Friday night and all day Saturday in academic competition. Great job, Wolves!

STUCO STATE CONVENTION

Last Thursday and Friday, CHS StuCo attended the State Student Council Convention in Lake Havasu. Students participated in leadership sessions, heard from guest speakers, and networked with student council members from across the state. Congrats to CHS StuCo for winning 2017 Council of Distinction! StuCo is sponsored by Mr. Michael Gray. Special thanks to Ms. Carla Relano and Ms. Courtney Kemp for chaperoning the event.

PARENT ORIENTATION

Thanks to CHS’s incoming freshmen and parents who attended last Thursday’s Parent Orientation. Counselors answered questions to help ease the transition to high school, and departments showcased student projects and shared curriculum. Chandler High is eager to welcome its newest Wolves in 2017-18!

DEMYSTIFYING THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

In conjunction with Chandler High School, Duke University is pleased to offer Demystifying the College Admission Process, a 60-minute seminar for area high school ninth, tenth and eleventh graders and their parents. Demystifying the College Admission Process will take place on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts. See the Demystifying flyer for additional info.

UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA EVENT FOR SPANISH SPEAKING FAMILIES

2017 CUSD SPRING COLLEGE FAIR

Interested in meeting with representatives from Arizona Colleges and Universities? Here’s your chance! CUSD is hosting its 2017 Spring College Fair on Wednesday, February 8th from 6:00-8:00pm at the Chandler Center of the Arts. See you there!

YEARBOOK

ATTENTION, SENIORS: Yearbook 2016-17 Senior Ad without a $25.00 fee deadline is Monday, January 23rd. The final day to order Yearbook Senior Ads for 2016-17 is February 5, 2017. For SENIOR ADS information, visit the CHS Yearbook webpage. Again, there will be a $25.00 LATE FEE after January 23, 2017.


CHS Wolves: If you have not yet purchased the 2016-17 yearbook, the price will increase on Jan. 23, 2017. Payment of $65.00 can be made before the price goes up. Pay either in the CHS Bookstore or online at Jostensyearbooks.com.

SENIOR PANORAMIC PICTURE

The 2017 Senior Panoramic Picture will be taken on Friday, January 27th at 8:00am. CHS Seniors must be present to be included in the photo; there are no make-ups. View the Senior Panoramic flyer for more info and prices.

ACT/SAT PRACTICE TEST

IB Parent Boosters are sponsoring an ACT/SAT Combo practice test on Saturday, January 28th from 8:00am - noon. Cost is $10. Students can sign up and pay during lunch A or B in the Courtyard at the IB table from January 17-24. View the ACT/SAT Practice Test flyer for additional info.

CIRCLE K FUEL UP NIGHT

CHS is partnering with Circle K for the second FUEL UP fundraiser of the year. Join CHS Cheer, Scruffy, and staff at the Circle K at the corner of Arizona Ave. and Frye Rd. from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 8th. Circle K will be drawing names for gift cards and baskets. Write your name on the back of your receipt and turn it in to the box before you leave.

Show your team spirit by joining us for a fundraiser to support CHS IB Boosters. Come in to the Chipotle at 3395 W Chandler Blvd Suite 1 in Chandler on Tuesday, January 24th between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in this flyer from Chipotle, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to CHS IB Boosters.
