GA Information for All

Elementary School Student of the Month: Jordan Harshberger

Jordan is a very eager learner. He has consistently completed all of his in-class assignments as well as completed all weekly online lessons at home in a timely manner. Not only is he a great student but he is a great citizen within the classroom. He loves to help the other students in the classroom and gets along with everyone. I thoroughly enjoy having him in class.

Middle School Student of the Month: Iliana Morales

Iliana Morales, this student is doing all of her work at home and is actively participating in all class activities. She is also a leader both in and out of the classroom. She goes out of her way to help other students who are struggling with content and using technology. However, when she does this she makes sure to not give students the answer but instead helps them find the answer on their own.

Granville Academy K-5 & 6-8 Family Support/Outreach Groups

K-5 & 6-8 Granville Academy families:

There are two Facebook groups that are set up for GA Pirates and families in grades K-5 & 6-8 (as parents and students) to come together and get to know each other better. The idea behind the pages is to have somewhere to go for support (help with assignments that may be confusing) or to plan a fun outing with the group ("Hey, anyone want to go to the park and have lunch this Friday?").

Please note the pages are set up to protect the privacy of students & families. Only GA Pirates are allowed to join. Please search for the groups on Facebook!

We are looking forward to getting to know our GA Pirates!

Weekly Message from the MS Teachers:

Good morning!

I have attached the checklists for this week, and they have been posted on Google Classroom for students.

Please remember that there is no after school tutoring this week. All students need to be picked up by 1pm each day this week.

Parent-teacher conferences are this week on Tuesday, November 5th (Mary Potter) and Wednesday, November 6th (Tar River). Please make sure you come for the time and location you signed up for. We have a lot of times slots, so unless you have been contacted by Mrs. Young, please show up for the time you selected on time. If you can no longer make this time, please let Mrs. Young know. If you have forgotten the time you selected, ask Mrs. Young what that time is.

If you have not signed up for a time, please click here to do so.

There is no school on Tuesday (11/5) for students due to parent-teacher conferences, but students are still expected to complete their work for the week. There is also no school on Monday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day.

The book fair will be set up all this week at the Mary Potter campus. You can also go online to order if you cannot make it to the book fair.

Science Olympiad practice will be next week on Tuesday (11/12) at Mary Potter and Wednesday (11/13) at Tar River until 2:30pm.
