Spartan Spotlight
October 2020
Hello Spartan Families,
There is no doubt that this Fall has been different with most as COVID-19 has impacted school and school activities. While it can be frustrating to look at this Fall and compare it to past Fall seasons I would encourage everyone to compare where we are currently to where we were at in the Spring when students did not have any opportunity to participate or compete. While things have looked different this year it is extremely exciting to see them able to participate in their activities.
One of the changes in place this year is the fact that schools have limited attendance for spectators at events. This site is a good resource to stay up do date on where all schools in the EDC are with regards to spectator limits and mask policies. With the limited attendance we are making a strong effort to livestream as many events as we can that occur on our Stadium Field, in our Pool or in our Main Gym. All of these events can be viewed via our North High School Activities YouTube Channel.
This past week Fargo North High School celebrated Homecoming week. Students participated in dress up days (over two weeks to ensure that each student had an opportunity for each of the 5 dress up days), we held coronation outdoors on the turf field and we served a free hotdog and chip lunch to all students and staff courtesy of the FNH Booster Club. There was no doubt that school spirit was abundant throughout the building and that energy was awesome to see.
Please note that Parent-Teacher Conferences are set to occur on Monday October 12th and Thursday October 15th. They will be held via Zoom this year rather than in person and parents can sign up for timeslots through this link: https://ptcfast.com/schools/Fargo_North_High_School
The academic success of our students is our #1 goal and we hope to have all parents take advantage of this opportunity to communicate and collaborate with your student’s teachers.
GO SPARTANS!!!

Congratulations
National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists
Congratulations to the fishing league on their first place finish!
This summer, 56 students from Fargo Public Schools enjoyed their time fishing with the Lake Agassiz High School Fishing League. The league is made up of students from high schools in both the Fargo Public School District and the West Fargo Public School District. It gives students the opportunity to learn about the sport of fishing in a competitive environment. If students would like to learn more about the program or sign up, they can contact their school office or visit the Lake Agassiz High School Fishing League Facebook page.

Email Issue for Hotmail Users
Fargo Public Schools has received reports from some families using Hotmail accounts that they may not be receiving school and district notification emails. These reports are only coming from parents with Hotmail accounts, but not every parent with a Hotmail account is having an issue. The problem appears to be related to how Hotmail “learns” to help manage incoming email for each individual. If you have a Hotmail email address and you think you might be missing school notification messages, please follow the steps in this linked document to create a contact/people entry for the noreply@fargo.k12.nd.us email address. That process will add the email to your “safe sender” list and help make sure you see all emails from Fargo Public Schools.
