59 College Ave

Buckhannon, WV

The Rosenbaum Family House in Morgantown, WV provides a warm, family-oriented environment for outpatients and guests. The Family House offers programs designed to provide spiritual and emotional support. For many families facing a medical crisis, this is as important as having an affordable place to stay. Over 30 volunteers and community organizations offer meals, support groups, and other activities that make Rosenbaum Family House a home away from home.

The WE LEAD Healthy Children and Appalachian Experience Issue Teams are collecting products for the Rosenbaum Family House that are in short supply. These items include the following:

-plastic forks and spoons

-coffee creamer

-Styrofoam bowls

-cold drink cups

If you would like to help, please drop off items in the collection box in the CCE.

Latrobe Street Mission Block Party

Saturday, Oct. 18th, 2-6pm

Parkersburg, WV, United States

Parkersburg, WV

The WE LEAD Poverty Reduction Team is planning a trip to Parkersburg, WV to volunteer at a block party hosted by the Latrobe Street Mission. The Mission is a homeless shelter that also serves as a recovery center for drug and alcohol abuse.

The block party will be on October 18 from 2pm-6pm. Volunteers are needed to: set up, run a face painting booth, assist with inflatables, sell raffle tickets, and various activities to help with their fundraising efforts.

This is a great way to earn service hours while helping a close community, not to mention having a great time!

If you are interested or would like to know more, contact one of the members of the Poverty Reduction Team by this Friday, September 26!
