J. W. Leary Junior High School
November 19, 2021
Everyone,
It was wonderful to see so many parents/guardians here in person on Wednesday. We love talking with you about how your child is doing and working together for their success.
The parent drop-off loop is getting better!! Thank you!! A right hand turn only sign has been posted on the stop sign. Please abide by this sign. I also must emphasize that drop-off/pick-up in front of the school is not OK. The cars and sudden stops are creating problems for the bus drivers as they are entering/exiting the bus loop.
Please complete this digital access survey.
This upcoming week we only have school on Monday and Tuesday. Important dates for when we return from Thanksgiving are:
Monday November 29 will be a Day 1
Tuesday November 30 (tentative) at 6:30 PM, JH, Teen Virtual Leadership Summit
Thursday December 2 Chorus Concert (please complete the form below before next Tuesday!)
Tuesday December 14 Band/Orchestra Concert (please complete the form)
Thank you everyone for supporting our children!!

DATES TO REMEMBER 2021-2022--this links the calendar that is regularly updated
Chorus Concert Attire:
Students should wear “concert black” (black top and bottom) of modest length and neckline. They may accent this with a red or green accent of some kind (tie, sweater, scarf, headband, etc.)
Shoes should be easy to move in and safe. Please no extremely high heels, platforms, or flip flops, as they can be quite dangerous on risers.
Masks will also need to be worn. Please see that this mask is able to stay away from the child’s mouth when breathing deeply, and that it does not fog up their glasses when singing.
Hair must also be away from the child’s eyes.
School Number Days

Teen Virtual Leadership Summit
Presented by the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau with speaker JC Pohl the goal of the summit is to help student leaders understand their role in the COVID era and the importance of thinking outside the box when it comes to building community and connections.
During this 90-minute Zoom Summit, attendees will learn the value of:
➡ Brainstorming critical social-emotional issues that are negatively affecting
student life;
➡ Understanding how student leaders can better influence the world around them;
➡ Developing tangible solutions that can be implemented during the COVID era
