Kindness Campaign

This year Beckman will be focusing on increasing kindness on campus, and in order to do so, we will ask that you try to go above the norm and think of ways to be kind to your peers. As Ferrucci stated in The Power of Kindness we become better people as a result of what we do for others. He also illustrated, through his focus on the 18 concepts, that if we are kind we are more apt to have success because they are interlinked.

Beckman Business Classes

This year, in a unique partnership with Irvine Valley College, Beckman High School students are able to take college level business classes. These classes are taught on Beckman’s campus, by experienced IVC professors during the regular bell schedule and are part of the student’s regular school day. Students enrolled in the Business classes take part in a series of four courses taught by IVC professors. Course topics include: Introduction to Business, Market Validation and Research, Business Models, and Pathways to Success.

Financial Literacy

New this month, Seniors in Economics classes began a program on Financial Literacy. Students will move through 6 units of study with professionals in the field covering topics such as: Budgeting, Buying a Car, Credit Cards, Taxes, Retirement and more.

College Assessment Day

On October 19th, Beckman participated in College Assessment Day. 9th and 10th grade students took a practice PSAT exam, 11th grade took the PSAT/NMSQT and 12th grade took the new Digital SAT.
