Roald Was Born September 13, 1916 in Wales. He lived with his Norwegian parents.Dahl served in the Royal Air Force during World War II, in which he became a flying ace. In the 1940's he became a best selling author for kids and adults. Some of his most famous books are James and the Giant Peach, Witches, Matilda, and more.

After the War he became a writer. He had soon become A famous writer. His first published book was Gremlins, he became more famous with the books like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach.
