What's Happening...
We have had another busy week at THS. On Thursday, School Counselors met with students who took the PSAT and helped them access and interpret their scores. In addition, each student was shown how to link their College Board account to Kahn Academy in order to receive FREE SAT preparation. There are 50 students traveling to New York City with Mr. Raras leading the trip. They will be touring various areas of the city, experiencing the culture of a large city and going to see the broadway show, Wicked. NHS members continued their help with the Adopt-A-Family program by sorting and organizing donated food items to create 50+ food baskets! The THS/TMS band once again welcomed students and staff this morning with playing holiday music before the day started.
Winter sports season is underway with the wrestling team off to a great start at 5-0 in dual meets. Girls and Boys basketball played a double header against Chelmsford while Ice Hockey opened its season against Newton South. The Swim and Dive team also had meets against Nashoba and Leominster. All teams will have various games/matches/meets over the upcoming days.
THS Information Night for Middle School students and parents was last night; thank you to all that attended. A special Thank you to our current students that provided tours of THS to families.

School Counseling
The College Board released PSAT scores this week for students who took the exam in October. School Counselors have met with students who took the exam to help them interpret the meaning of their scores and connect their College Board accounts to a free SAT tutoring program through KHAN Academy.
Congratulations to the seniors who have submitted their college applications! Seniors should schedule an appointment to meet with their school counselor to discuss their future plans if they have not already done so.
Senior Parents/Guardians:
Updated transcripts with Trimester 1 grades have been submitted for seniors who have submitted their college applications.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application is now available to complete. This application can be found at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA is the most important application in the financial aid process. All colleges and universities will require the FAFSA before determining a financial aid award. Colleges may also require students to complete a CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE (profileonline.collegeboard.org) and/or a college specific financial aid application. It is important to be aware of each college's financial aid deadlines - missing deadlines could result in missing out on financial aid. For more information on the financial aid process please visit mefa.org.
FAFSA Day Massachusetts is a non-profit, volunteer driven program providing free assistance to students and families seeking to complete the FAFSA. These events will be taking place in high schools, colleges, and libraries across the Commonwealth and will provide one-on-one, step-by-step assistance for families completing the FAFSA. Please visit FAFSADay.org or email fafsaday@gmail.com for more information.
