A New Puzzling Option

Zukei puzzles are new to me and seem like a perfect springtime activity to stretch students thinking in new ways. While accommodations might not be needed for our spatially focused students, teachers could highlight one or two vertices to provide a scaffold if needed. These puzzles provide great geometrical vocabulary practice while allowing students to visually practice connecting the dots. These would also make a great laminated sponge activity for those times when you need a quick filler or have a few students in need of a challenge. You could also extend the activity by asking students to estimate and check the perimeter or to calculate the area!
