What's going on in grade 4

Mathematicians are multiplying two digit by 1 digit numbers using partial products as well as the traditional algorithms with regrouping.


Astronomers are studying the effects of shadows and the sun as well as the way the tilt of the earth combined with its rotation and revolution around the sun give us seasons.


Historians are realizing the importance of taking to recognize the contributions men and women in the armed forces are making on our behalf so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we have in America.


Writers are perfecting their craft writing persuasive essays. Writers are also looking at the using more interesting vocabulary as they draft their writing.


Readers are becoming more aware of making inferences as we read complex pieces of literature. Readers are also trying to build stamina as they read and really focus on getting into a good book during independent reading time.

Celebrating Veteran's Day!

Our class had a special guest to recognize Veterans Day! Imoni's uncle Joey came and graciously answered our questions about what it is like to be in the army and serve our country. We are so grateful for his service and really learned a lot about why we do honor our veterans on this day.
