Happy Holidays!

School Closed for Winter Break

Friday, December 23, 2022 is a one-session day with a 12:30p.m. dismissal for all students.


School will be closed for the Winter Break, beginning Monday, December 26, 2022 through Monday, January 2, 2023.


Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

A December to Remember!

Virtual Author Visit

The 2nd grade had a virtual author visit with Nathaniel & Delilah Adams, 8 year old twins who wrote The Magical Envelope. The students were able to ask them questions about their story and discuss theme of kindness and helping others.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Throughout the month students participated in various holiday dress down days. Check out a few of our fun filled events and how our Clarendon bees spread holiday cheer!

Clarendon Winter Chorus & Band Performance

Winter musical performances were kicked off by the Winter Concert on December 14th held at the Arthur F. Couch Performing Arts Center. From the exciting opening performance by the elementary concert band to a thrilling finale from the Clarendon chorus, the audience was treated to an excellent evening of musical entertainment. Thank you to Mrs. De La Cruz and Mr. Gongora for their hard work and dedication, thank you to our office staff, staff volunteers, the IT dept and building custodians for setting up for the event. Thank you to all of our Clarendon & Huber Street families for your continued support.


They did a wonderful job spreading the holiday cheer. Great job, Bees!

Door & POD Decorating Contest

Over the last few weeks, our faculty and staff have been working hard on decorating their doors and hallways for our annual Door Decorating and hallway Contest.


Our Doors Winners:

1st Place: Mrs. Bartetta's class

2nd Place (tied): Ms. Matos class and Ms. Naz class

3rd Place: Mrs Krajewski and Mrs. Houran class

On Friday, December 23rd, students and staff got into the holiday spirit by wearing their pajamas and having holiday parties.

Grinch Day!

On Tuesday, December 20th, students and staff dressed in all green for Grinch Day!

1st Grade Polar Express Day

The first grade classes at Clarendon School were treated to a morning filled with Polar Express fun! Students gathered in the gym to watch Polar Express, drink hot chocolate, and eat some snacks. It was a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Thank you to the first grade class moms and volunteers for putting this event together.

Secaucus Tree Lighting

The Clarendon School Chorus performed at the Secaucus Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 3rd.


Thank you to Mrs. De la Cruz and the chorus for spreading Holiday cheer through the town of Secaucus through music.

Computer Science Education Week

Clarendon School celebrated Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek). Ms. Melendez's technology classes have been learning about coding in preparation for The Hour of Code which takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. Students have been working together doing unplugged coding challenges, digital escape rooms, Angry Birds blockly coding, Dance Party coding, and other activities on Code.org.

PTA Holiday Bazaar

Thank you to the Clarendon PTA for hosting the Holiday Bazaar at school! Staff and students shopped for holiday gifts while enjoying a visit from Santa and the Grinch who surprised our students!

Oh, what fun!

That’s a wrap on our Bee Merry and Bright Holiday 2022 Bazaar!! Our kids shopped till they dropped, raffled, met Santa , and even had another festive friend join us (hint… he’s a mean one….)!

We are so thankful for our entire beehive! To our volunteers, teachers, staff and most especially our most amazing students, thank you for making this holiday so very merry & bright.

Rockin Around the Holiday Tree

The Clarendon PTA and Clarendon SGO asked our classes to decorate the holiday tree so our teachers and students have been getting into the holiday spirit by creating class ornaments that represent their classrooms!

We will make every effort to have our students go outside for recess. Please make sure to provide your children with appropriate clothing for cold weather. Students will remain indoors during the following weather conditions.

The Secaucus Board of Education requires to wear school uniforms on a daily basis, including field trips. Students are to arrive at school wearing the appropriate clothing as defined in the dress code. The following is a list of clothing items in compliance with the uniform policy.
