Scan the QR code to register. | San Bernardino Valley College Are you interested in taking college courses during your time in high school? Classes start in January, 2022. 9th,10th or 11th grade students with a 2.0 or higher are eligible to sign up, if you are interested go see your counselor. |

Freshman and Seniors will be participating in college and career activities. | Football Rules Review The tickets for Friday's football game must be purchased prior to the game. Tickets cannot be purchased with cash. CARTER Students must have ID to enter, no bags, backpacks allowed, no-re entry. Students who do not have an ID must have an adult with them. No exceptions. This week is Mental Illness Awareness WeekAnyone can get depressed, and depression can happen at any age and in any type of person, and doesn’t feel the same for everyone.
What Is Depression? Depression is more than just feeling down or having a bad day. When a sad mood lasts for a long time and interferes with normal, everyday functioning, you may be depressed. Symptoms of depression could include:
Not wanting to do activities that used to be fun Feeling irritable‚ easily frustrated‚ or restless Having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep Waking up too early or sleeping too much If you feel like this may be you, or a friend, come to the counseling office. The purpose of the SMAART Program is to enhance the academic performance of students by addressing their socio-emotional needs. Students will receive mentoring from professionals, learn career opportunities and gain strategies on how to achieve their goals. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988, on the approval of Public Law 100-402.
September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.
