Welcome Back BV Families
We are very excited to begin another school year at Bridge Valley as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary!!! It is hard to believe that it is now ten years ago that we opened our doors for the very first time. This year will be an exciting one as we celebrate this major event!
While it was shorter than most, we hope that you have had a wonderful summer and are ready for another great year. Remember to check the Bridge Valley website and the News & Notes on the 15th of the month, along with our newsletter at the end of each month. There is always a LOT of information to share so that we may keep you informed of all that is happening at Bridge Valley.
We look forward to seeing you at Back To School Nights and our Family Fun Events too.
Sincerely,
Dr. Garvin & Mr. Cochran

ART NOTE
It is official, summer is over, but don’t worry, this is when the real fun begins. I’m looking forward to a great year teaching your children art again!
The objective of my class is to appreciate, critique, create, read, and write about many types of art. The students will walk away from art class with a lot of valuable information, a portfolio of creative artwork, many fun memories, and a deeper appreciation for the arts.
In order to ensure that your child is prepared for each art class, I ask you to please be aware of the day on which your child has art. I recommend that your child not wear their best clothing on that day. Students will sometimes be involved in messy projects in the art room.
I believe the person who coined the phrase ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ may have had art teachers in mind. Any clean, recycled goods listed below are greatly appreciated. Please send them in with your child to bring into art class or drop them off in the office.
RECYCLED GOODS WANTED:
1. Cereal boxes
2. Empty Water bottles
3. Maps
4. Styrofoam or plastic egg cartons
5. White thin wire hangers
6. Buttons
7. Large clear plastic spinach containers
8. Ziploc bags
9. Yogurt containers
10. Tissue boxes
Since I am teaching at two schools this year, the best way to contact me with any questions or comments is through email: ikhachaturyan@cbsd.org. You can also visit my teacher site at http://www.cbsd.org//Domain/974 to see more details about art class this year.
If you are interested in helping out with the art shows, please contact the office or me so we can discuss it further. I’m really looking forward to another great year at Bridge Valley and seeing all of the wonderful students again. Let’s have a terrific school year!
Sincerely,
Izabella (Khachaturyan) Mazzenga, M.Ed.

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! We look forward to a great year with awesome parents who help our Home and School by their volunteer efforts. One way you can help is to purchase Market Day products.
Bridge Valley is continuing to participate in Market Day, our monthly fundraising program. Thank you to all of you who have purchased these foods and/or volunteered their time and energy last year.
Each month, as a participating Market Day school, restaurant quality food products from the same vendors that supply many upscale restaurants will be available for purchase. We choose Market Day because:
- It offers high-quality and nutritious food at affordable prices on a monthly basis.
- By doing your grocery shopping with Market Day, you will be feeding your family while enhancing your child’s education. In fact, we’ll earn a minimum of 10% on every purchase you make.
- Market Day offers a 100% quality guarantee on all products.
Participating in Market Day provides a service to you and our Home and School. The profits raised will help fund classroom and building technology, field trips, assemblies and other important educational needs.
Please consider purchasing Market Day for your family by going online for easy ordering at http://www.marketday.com. Our school account number is 20969, and along with a password of your choosing you can create your own account. The September 2013 order may be placed online by 11pm Thursday, September 5.
If you have any questions please call Kimberly Leff at 215-794-3075 or email kimleff@yahoo.com.
Target rebates- Use your Target charge card and Bridge Valley HSA will receive 1% of your Target purchases. Please designate Bridge Valley Home and School as the school of your choice when you apply for your card. If you already have a Target card, go to the customer service desk and complete the paperwork to designate our group.
My Coke Rewards - My Coke Rewards for Schools is a way for parents, friends, and others in the community to support local K-12 schools by donating My Coke Rewards points which can be earned from hundreds of participating Coca-Cola products. Schools can turn donated points into a variety of rewards that support students. Donate your My Coke Rewards points and empower students to do, learn and discover more every day. Your points can provide our school with things like athletic equipment, books, classroom supplies and more.
