These include the Tesla induction motor and a system of alternating-current transmission, the Tesla coil (1891), and a system of transmitting electric power without wires. Tesla's advanced concepts include transmissions of large quantities of electrical power without wires and inexhaustible energy supplies from the universe. In general, Tesla shaped the world of magnetic and electrical inventions.

What is Electromagnetic Induction?

Electromagnetic Induction is the production of a potential difference across a conductor when it is exposed to a varying magnetic field. When a magnet is moved relative to a conductor (This creates magnetic induction) an electromotive force is created. A motor has coils turning inside magnetic fields, and a coil turning inside a magnetic field creates an electromagnetic force.

Washing Machine-

A Washing Machine can use electromagnetic forces. Inside a washing machine there is a block of concrete that is used to balance a heavy electric motor. Usually, this motor will move after the magnetic field provided by the machine is rotated on its axis by electricity. The tub in a washing machine holds the clothes while the outer tub seals in the water. An agitator is in the middle to cause the tub to spin. There are also three pulleys that spin the tubs. The controls on the machine help control the temperature and the size of the load. The buttons are controlled with electricity which initiates electrical forces. The washing machine is essential to living because it provides sanitary clothing.


invented by John Gorrie in 1860. The refrigerator uses an electric motor while using HFC-134a. The electromagnets in a fridge work with a motor that uses electricity to compress the HFC. As a result of high pressure, the HFC changes into a liquid and flows through an expansion valve. The coils go through the freezer and regular part of the fridge where the liquid is cooled to make the entire refrigerator cold. Refrigerators are vital for keeping food stored for long periods of time.

Air Conditioner-

Willis Carrier developed the first in home air conditioner in 1928. The air conditioner inverter is used to control the temperature. When the speed of the induction motor is proportional to the frequency of the AC, the compressors runs at different speeds. The air conditioner makes life a lot easier because it allows people to control the temperature around them which makes it more comfortable to be in.

Electromagnetic Induction Torch-

The first flashlight was invented by Conrad Hubert in 1898. Later people made new modern-day flashlights. This flashlight is able to charge by shaking. This torch never needs new batteries because it is able to convert kinetic energy into electric energy. By using a metal core that passes through a copper coil and creates a current. This invention helps improve our life because it no longer needs batteries so it is able to run off of less energy. Someone might want a flashlight but if they are out of batteries they would not be able to see in the dark. With this flashlight people are able to use it without batteries.

Electromagnetic Induction Cook Top-

The electromagnetic induction cook top was first patented in the early 1900s and later General Motors used demonstration stoves. The cook top works because the coils located just beneath the cook top's elements carry an alternating current, creating a changing magnetic field. When a pan is placed in that field, it acts as the second conductor and a current is created. That current is converted to heat inside the pan, which is used to cook the food. Through using electromagnetism it improves our lives today because this cook top is able to get a lot hotter than other stoves so if you needed to cook something at a higher temperature you could use a cook top.

Levitation Shoes—

These shoes contain conductors in their sole. The conductor can be levitated above an electromagnet current with an alternating current flowing through it which exists through magnetic induction. The shoes provide a magnetic field that initiates magnetic induction. The electromagnetism used in this product can help us reach places that couldn’t be reached before!
