A School to Emulate

Memorial Elementary Bobcat Bulletin 11-30 through 12-4-15

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone! I hope you were able to enjoy some time with your families and get some much needed rest. The cold and rainy weather certainly helped me to rest well! We have been out of the routine for 9 days so these first few days back will require some adjusting. It's ok if it takes us a couple of days to get back into the swing of things.

The same will be true for our students. They have been out of school for 9 days and they will need some time to acclimate. Please be sure to review the procedures and expectations with your students and provide time to practice. Remember, that for some of our students the 9 days away meant 9 days of uncertainty and insecurity. Extra love is always welcome!

Our 5th grade students are headed to Collin County Adventure Camp. This is such an exciting time for them! Several staff will be headed to camp to serve as chaperones and we will have guest teachers in the building for the next 3 days. Please lend an extra hand if you see a substitute in need.

We begin our MOY Math MAP testing this week. I know you will monitor well and encourage our students to do their very best thinking. I am excited to see the growth our students will make.

Due to 5th grade camp and December being a short month, there will be no Bobcat Visioning meetings this month. Sara and I will be working on a survey we would like you complete prior to winter break so that we may use your feedback to adjust the meetings upon our return in January. Wow! Are we already talking about 2016?

Keep filling the walls with displays of student work samples. They look GREAT! I love to see what our students produce and I know they are proud when they see their work as well.

This is a reminder that "unknown" district personnel will enter the building using doors other than the main entrance. They will see how much of the building they can access before being addressed by staff and escorted to the main office. We got this!

Thanks everyone and let's have a wonderful week back!

That's HILARIOUS! Send your funnies my way...

Just before the Thanksgiving break a 2nd grade teacher put on a brain break to let her students get some wiggles out. One of the students said, "I'm going to have to sit this one out. I'm just not feeling it today."

Kudos

Please send your kudos my way and you will read them here.
