WELMCOME TO 2ND SEMESTER

We hope you had a restful and enjoyable holiday season! The new year is an exciting time to keep momentum going from first semester, as well as start afresh in other areas. Counselors are ready and available to help you make this semester a great one.

JUNIOR CONFERENCES

Junior Conferences will begin in January and run through March. During this meeting, students will have a chance to connect with their counselor in a one-on-one setting to review their graduation status, begin the college/career planning process, to discuss standardized testing and summer opportunities.

POST-HIGH SCHOOL PLANNING

  • As summer approaches, we encourage students to begin thinking of their goals beyond high school. This may include, college, employment, military, trade school, gap year, and many more.
  • If applicable, start your college search. Read and gather information, attend local college fairs, visit college campuses to see what sort of environments suit you.
  • Students interested in attending a 4-year college are encouraged to begin the standardized testing process in the Spring of junior year. This can be met through the SAT or ACT.

  • Be on the lookout for special programs and presentations from PTSA, PAUSD, and Gunn Counseling to help guide you through post-graduation options.
