Message From Central Road School

Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal

A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 04/10/2022

Dear Central Road Families,

We continue to enjoy the month of April with both productive and fun teaching and learning! As we walked the hallways, classrooms, and MPR this week, we found students interacting, sharing, and working together for the good of our school. We still seem to be waiting on the warmer, spring weather but know it is hopefully around the corner. Please enjoy your weekend with family and friends. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our Central Road community! We truly appreciate it.

Kindest Regards,

Joanna Shostachuk

It is easy to participate in this much-appreciated TEACHER TRIBUTE PROGRAM. Your contribution will be a welcome recognition for the teachers or staff you name, and it will help the Foundation continue its work on behalf of all District 15 students.

APRIL 2022 SAFETY-From Mrs. Kathy Nordin

It is finally spring! Fortunately, we are starting to have hints of better weather. Several times, I have asked that the crosswalk, Brookmeade Drive and individual driveways NOT be blocked. These suggestions are for everyone’s benefit and I ask that you please help the whole situation by doing it. Not to mention that blocking the crosswalk is against the law and can earn you a pretty hefty ticket. Cell phones are also a no-no in a school zone, hands free or not.

Also, some people seem to be forgetting about entering the parking lot and not blocking the buses. Not everyone is going to get a spot inside the driveway. Something else I have noticed that has been previously mentioned is letting your children out in the morning on the street side of your vehicle. Never a good idea for any, but especially with very little ones. They can dart into the street before you know it and right into oncoming traffic. I ask that you please get them out on the curb side. Also, here’s an oldie but a goodie. PLEASE do not cross in the middle of the block with your child, regardless of their age. This is NOT the way to teach your children to cross a street. Thank you for reading my communication and working together to keep our students and school safe each day during drop off and pick up. Thank you for your support.

THANK A CENTRAL ROAD STAFF MEMBER

As we enter the 2nd half of the school year, I invite you to take notice of the things you see your child's teacher do, hear your child's teacher say, or the things you hear your child gush with excitement about related to their teacher. We've included this simple form for you to submit should you feel so inclined to do so. Children in full day school spend more of their waking day with their teacher than they do with their parents. We thank you for entrusting your child with us! This has been a good school year and your kind words mean more than you know!
