Groundhog or no groundhog...
This has been another "odd" winter for weather. The kids have not played on the sledding hill for two year now and it doesn't look like there is any relief in sight. But the temperature has been consistently in the 20's (in the mornings at least) so please reinforce the requirement of snow pants. Maybe we should rename them, "cold pants."
We have several events going on this month that may be fun to talk with your children about. Battle of the Books competition has just been completed and our Forensics competition is taking place this week. The district Forensics Match is Saturday, February 27th at 10am.
We also have the next series of School Enrichment Model clusters beginning this week. February 18, 25, and March 3rd, 2-3pm. If you have time to volunteer, this is a good event to attend. Volunteers do not need to lead sessions, but it is always nice to have an extra set of adult hands around. Please contact the school if you can volunteer with SEM (260-1345.)
Best Wishes,

Health Tip from Mrs. Abel
“Adequate sleep (10-12 hours per night for kids) is important for physical, mental, and emotional health. To improve your quality of sleep, stick to a regular sleep and meal schedule, get regular exercise each day, manage stress, create a relaxing bedtime ritual, and avoid electronics close to bed time (as some research suggests the quality of light emitted by a screen can disrupt normal sleep cycles).”
