The Faubion Lion Pride Press
Week of May 9, 2022
Dear Faubion Family,
We hope that you enjoy this week's edition of the Faubion Lion Pride Press. We provided small gestures of appreciation to our teachers throughout the week, which pales in comparison to everything they do for our scholars and the future of our society. Although STAAR testing comes to a close this week, our teachers have engaging activities planned for every instructional day to close out the year. We look forward to seeing our scholars again on Monday, May 9.
Aristotle once said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." At Faubion Middle School, we make excellence a habit, and we are kind. Parents, thank you for instilling those values in your children so they can make a lasting and positive mark on our community.
Go Lions!
- Mr. Boom
what parents remember as "mousetrap"
Our 6th grade science scholars constructed Rube Goldberg sequences this past week. This project wrapped up the unit of forces, motions, and simple machines. Kudos to our teachers for creating this fun learning opportunity for our students and to our students for having fun with it!
May the Fourth be with you!
STAAR is serious business

Physical Needed for Athletics/Cheer/Drill
Good afternoon Parents!
Every student in athletics will have to have a physical dated on or after April 1, 2022 to participate for the 2022-2023 school year. If your student is NOT participating in athletics/cheer/drill team then please disregard this message!
Physicals must be completed on the GREEN MISD Physical form, which we began passing out today. Students can either get one from a coach in the gym or at the FMS front office.
You are welcome to get a physical exam from a doctor of your choosing or you may take part in the McKinney ISD physical exam days! All exams are $20 (cash only). Please see the attachment for more information!
Rankone documents are now available online. All of the forms must be completed to participate in the orientation and athletics. You must have your child's Student ID, you will use digits only, not the S.

Current 7th Graders
We highly encourage any student that plans on participating in athletics next year, to complete and turn in the physical before summer. Rankone documents can also be completed for next year, starting April 1st. If these are completed before summer, it is one less thing to worry about before next school year begins. I will also be available to answer any questions.
Current 8th Graders
We highly encourage the current 8th graders to get their physicals completed at the High School that they plan to attend. This will allow trainers to keep the physicals of incoming 9th graders. It will also allow students to meet and talk to coaches and trainers that they will be working with the next 4 years. Rankone documents will also be available on April 1st.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and have a good weekend.
