May 2, Parkland Foundation 5th Year Anniversary Gala and Auction recognizing Five Alumni who will be inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor, 6 PM, Fogelsville Holiday Inn. Plus, Inductee Denise Donatelli will be performing jazz vocals at a benefit show at Allentown's Symphony Hall on May 1st. For tickets: http://www.millersymphonyhall.org/calendar/event/364/
May 3 - Fifth Grade District-wide Band and Strings Concert - 365 musicians on one stage at Parkland High School!
May 12 - Senior Citizen Dinner and Orchestra Concert, 5:30 PM Cafeteria, 7 PM concert. This is orchestra director Karen Creeden's last concert on the PHS stage. She will retire after 25 years of service in Parkland.
May 14 - PHS Music Boosters Giant Yard Sale, PHS Parking Lot. Sellers are wanted to set up a $20 lot space or $5 table. You keep the profits. Contact Mariann Danko at 610-533-7503 for more info.
May 15, Leo Club Duck Race, Covered Bridge Park, 1 PM. This year's proceeds will benefit Angel 34, a local charity that supports Lehigh Valley families with children who are battling cancer. Winners do not need to be present at the
race,
but feel free to come out to witness the craziness. The cost of each duck is $10 (cash or check made payable to Parkland High School) and there will be four cash prizes awarded.The PHS Library is currently displaying a Holocaust Exhibit through April 29th, which is on loan from Mrs. Marylou Lordi, who in conjunction with the Jewish Community Center of Allentown, lends this display to various libraries throughout the area.
