Liberty Park Elementary School

Week of April 29th, 2019

Dear Liberty Park Families,

Our 3rd and 4th graders did an amazing job completing the first week of ILEARN. Testing will continue this Monday for all 3rd and 4th grade students. As a reminder, testing will take place over the course of the next couple of weeks (April 22nd - May , however students will not be tested all day long during this window. In fact in most cases students will only be testing for 60 minutes or less each day. See below in this newsletter for more information regarding Indiana's ILEARN test.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our annual “A Night at the Arts!” event on May 10th! Also don't forget that Teacher Appreciation week is May 6th - 10th. I encourage everyone to show our appreciation for LP teachers who are absolutely the best!

Have a great weekend and as always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary!

Your Principal,

Jason Brooks

Attendance Update

LP's Attendance Goal is 97% or greater!

Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. Every school day counts in a child's academic life... a missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn. The effects of lost school days build up one absence at a time. Leaving early or coming in late, is a loss of instructional time that cannot be made up.

During the month of March our attendance was 96.5%. Thank you for all that you do to ensure that students are healthy and attend school regularly.

Lunch Time Reminders

We have special seating next to our Café in our LGI room for parents to enjoy lunch with their child/children. Due to allergies and student safety, you may only eat lunch with your child/children. Students may not invite friends to eat with them while visiting with their parent. Guests must be on the child's emergency contact form. Guests are not permitted to visit classrooms in the buidling during this time. Thank you and enjoy time with your child!
