Knightly Update October 24, 2021
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 14
What a week! Homecoming 2021 has come and gone, but the memories will last forever. We had a fantastic week, and I can't say enough about our student body and the student leaders that we have on campus that worked to put on a wonderful homecoming. Please join me in thanking the following organizations and individuals on our campus that helped to make Homecoming 2021 an absolutely special event:
- ACP Student Government, under the direction of advisors Mr. Reggie Castro and Mr. Adam Lindstrom; GREAT JOB StuGo!!
- ACP Security Personnel, Shawn Curbello (lead security), Rhonda Andre, Scott Miller, Humberto Urquidez
- Jay Penrod, ACP Media Technician
- Pat Sylvestre, ACP Equipment Manager
- Mrs. Penny Medlock, athletic & activity secretary
- ACP Custodial Team under the direction of Lucy Johnson (building manager)
- The numerous faculty and staff volunteers (can you say dunk tank, anyone?)
- General Boosters
- Baseball Boosters
- Volleyball Boosters
- ACP Dance Club, under the direction of Ms. Joan Conner
- Wrestling
- Boys Basketball
- Varsity Football
- ACP Spiritline
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge ACP administrators Jaime McClure (Athletic Director) and Josh Roth (Dean of Students) for all the work they put forth helping to make sure the week was well organized and every organization had the materials and support needed to make the week so very special. Well done!
I hope our students enjoyed the week and had fun celebrating all that is wonderful about being a Knight! It was a great week and reminded me why I am so proud to be a Knight.
Our Badminton team begins state play this week and is entering the tournament as the number 6 seed. I wish them the best of luck in the tournament and look forward to watching them compete. The first round of the playoffs is on Monday, where the team will be taking on the Gilbert HS Tigers in our school's auxiliary gym. Please come and watch the girls battle for the state title. Good luck!
Enjoy the week ahead, and please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for being a part of our school. Go, KNIGHTS!
Rob Bickes
Principal

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
