Scholastic Book Fair Update-THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent Scholastic Book Fair! It was so nice to bring the virtual book fair to our students and families. If you missed the book fair or are looking for books in the future, the Scholastic Store can connect you with wonderful titles all year long. You can choose "Hunt Club Elementary" as your school of choice to support, and our school will receive Scholastic rewards to use toward future school purchases. Thank you again for your support & participation!

A message from our Home and School Organization
Chipotle Night - We raised $116.52 last night at our Chipotle Night! Thank you everyone!
Gingerbread House Contest - Our December activity is a Gingerbread House contest! Until Dec 14th, submit a photo of your gingerbread creations to the Home & School email (huntclubhso@yahoo.com). Be creative! You can use traditional materials or non-traditional materials. Each submission will be entered into a raffle for prizes. Once you email your submission, we will confirm receipt of your submission.
Hot Cocoa Storytime with Santa - We are excited to announce a follow-up event to our Gingerbread House Raffle Contest! Once you get your Gingerbread submissions in to us by Monday, Dec. 14th, make sure you check our Facebook page (Hunt Club Home & School Organization) on Friday, Dec. 18th! First, at 6 p.m., come for a viewing of a slideshow of all the Gingerbread submissions. Then grab some hot cocoa to watch a special video at 6:30 p.m. of our Hunt Club Santa. He will read a story and have a special message for the Hunt Club children.
Staff Appreciation Holiday Gift Cards - Due to the constraints that this unusual year brings with no in-person teaching, we know that it might be hard to present your child’s teacher with a gift for the holidays. We have, therefore, set up an option to provide a monetary donation to the staff members of your choosing. From now until December 21st you can go to our website (www.huntclubhso.com) and select “Staff Appreciation” under “For Sale”. Select a staff member to sponsor, enter the donation amount (from $1 to however much you choose), then add it to the cart to purchase. You are able to repeat this process however many times you wish for any additional staff members. After December 21st Home & School will present the staff members with an Amazon eGift Card (sent to them via email) with the total amount collected. The staff members will also receive the names of the families (not the individual amounts, however) who contributed to their Amazon eGift Card. The staff members then can use this gift card at Amazon itself or purchase gift cards from Amazon to establishments of their own choosing. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! Thank you for helping the Hunt Club staff have a wonderful holiday season!
Teacher/Staff Shout-Outs - Each month, Home & School will take the names of the teachers and staff members who received “shout-outs” and enter them in a drawing. The November winner was drawn Mrs. Mayor was the winner! She received a goodie bag of some chocolates and a gift card to The Village Grind. Keep submitting the “shout-outs” to our lovely HC teachers and staff so they can both see how much we appreciate them and so that they can be entered in future drawings! Here is the link to submit the “shout-outs”: https://forms.gle/KhvwwetEpgWsa66CA
Market Day - Market Day is a program where you can order food items to be sent directly to your home and Hunt Club will receive 10% back of every purchase. How nice that you can receive quality meats and other items without having to go to the store! When you go to the website (https://www.marketdaylocal.com), register for Hunt Club Elementary.
PE, Art, Music, and Library Videos!
Amplify Science Update for Parents:
During the second and third trimesters, students will work on science at home during their independent work time. Classroom teachers will not be providing direct instruction for science as they will focus on the core curricular areas: reading/Social Studies, writing, and math. Each week, your child's teacher will provide links to Amplify Science @Home Videos for your child to watch during independent work time and on Wednesdays. Your child does not need to recreate any of the demonstrations as these are all done in the video; however, please feel free to use household items if you would like them to do so. Also, your child does not need a science investigation notebook to complete these videos at home. S/he can simply use a piece of paper or notebook to follow along with the videos.
Since direct instruction will not be taking place during the second and third trimesters, there will not be a science grade on the progress report. There will be no assignments or assessments as this is an independent study. We appreciate your understanding as we want our teachers to focus on the core curricular areas (reading/Social Studies, writing, and math) as we continue to move through our hybrid schedule of in-person and remote instruction.
If you have any questions, please reach out directly to your child's teacher or building administration.
Thank you!
