The Importance of Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it provides you with energy and gives an early start for your metabolism. Some examples of a healthy breakfast are the following:


Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie - Provides you with protein, vitamins and some minerals to give a great boost to your day.


Fruit and Low-fat Yogurt Parfait - Provides you with quite a bit of vitamins and minerals, also gives your body some dietary fiber and some carbohydrates for energy, but not too many.

Guidelines for Smart Snacking

Snacking is inevitable and many people do it everyday, but not everyone picks something healthy for a snack. A lot of people choose to eat chips and candy as a snack and it is not beneficial to their body. Some smart snacks that you could eat after working out and maybe something an hour or two after lunch are the following:


Granola Bar - provides your body with protein and fiber


A mixture of fruits - provides your body with vitamins and some minerals, also provides your body with fiber


A mixture of vegetables - gives your body minerals with some vitamins mixed in with it, provides you with dietary fiber, protein and some iron.


Some whole-grain bread with fruits on it - gives your body grains, dietary fiber, protein, vitamins and some carbohydrates for energy.


Oatmeal with fruits - provides your body with protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, a tiny bit of iron and carbohydrates for energy for an activity afterwards.
