PSAT- October 12
All 10th grade students will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 12th. The testing administration will start at 8:45. All 10th grade students are automatically signed up to test. More information and study materials about the PSAT can be found here! For any questions about the 10th grade testing administration, please contact Dr. Pérez Rhym at perezrhym@clarke.k12.ga.us. Any 11th grade student who is interested in taking the PSAT on this day should pre-register here.

athens peer court
Athens Peer Court is a partnership between UGA’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development and the Athens-Clarke Co. Juvenile Court. All volunteers are expected to attend three training sessions. As the training is cumulative, attendance at all three sessions is mandatory to join the program. The dates for the training sessions are as follows:
- Thursday, September 29 from 5:30pm-8:00pm (dinner is included)
- Saturday, October 1 from 9:00am-3:00pm (lunch is included)
- Tuesday, October 4 from 6:00pm-8:30pm (dinner is included)
The trainings are held at the Fanning Institute for Leadership Development located at 1240 South Lumpkin Street; Athens, GA 30602.After the training concludes, the commitment for youth volunteers is to serve at least one Tuesday evening per month. Hearings are held at the courthouse in downtown Athens and typically last from 5:15-7:30pm at the latest.
This program is open to all 8th-12th grade Clarke County students. Participation is free. Any students interested in joining Peer Court should complete and return the attached APC Consent Form to Jason Estep by Tuesday, September 27 (Jason.Estep@fanning.uga.edu).

CLear bag policy
Beginning on Friday, August 26th, CSHS will implement a clear bag policy at all sporting events. This policy will be similar to policies in place at college and professional stadiums and coliseums. There will be no entrance into sporting events without a clear bag. The following types of bags are permitted inside of CSHS sporting events:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”x6”x12”, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5”x6.5”

AP test registration
For the 2023 AP exams, students at CSHS will be registering online. Online Exam registration will begin on September 15, 2022 at 6 am and end on March 5, 2023 at 6 pm. The AP exam registration process is a two step process, but both can be completed in one sitting when the student and parent/guardian do this together. For the 2023 AP exams students will have the option to take their exam(s) for AP Literature & Composition, AP English Language & Composition, AP Psychology, AP United States History & AP World History either digitally of paper/pencil. The AAHRC Scholarship:
The scholarship season for the Athens Area Human Relations Council, Inc. (AAHRC) is now open. Applications are open to all high-school seniors in Clarke, Oglethorpe, Madison, and Oconee Counties and will be accepted from August 3, 2022 - September 30, 2022. A completed application will consist of the following items:
- 2022-2023 AAHRC Scholarship Application, Essay, 2 Recommendations, Transcript
A detailed description of requirements can be found on the application itself. Please note that the AAHRC will not accept any applications or supplemental materials by postal mail. All documents must be submitted via email to scholarships@humanrelationscouncil.org. Attached is a copy of the application, the recommendation form, and a transcript release request form.
