Roosevelt Information

A few reminders so you can stay in the know:


~ Teacher Appreciation Week...it's not too late to tell a special teacher how much you appreciate them!


~ Construction Project Update: More trailers, more boxes packed, more purging. It's on. Like for real. This is a monumental undertaking in like a hundred different ways...and we are gonna need help!!! IF you are able to help volunteer later this month with the packing process, please, please, please email Kelsey Bellig at kbelli1@isd77.org -- she will collect your name and email address and be in touch with further details. Currently the dates we have chosen for volunteers to help us are: Thursday, May 26 from 3:30-7:00 AND Tuesday, May 31 from 3:30-7:00.


~ Late Start: Next Tuesday, May 10th, if our last PLC/Late Start of the year. Please be sure to sign up if your child is in need of supervision during that time.


~ Mark your calendar...our Family Reading Celebration is coming back! We will be hosting a Family Reading Celebration OUTSIDE on Thursday, May 19 from 1:30-2:15. It's super simple...bring a blanket and read with your child(ren). It's really that simple. Rain Date: Thursday, May 26 from 1:30-2:15. See Flyer below or click on the link above.


~ Summer Backpack Food Sign-Up (See QR code below): We will be offering a continuation of our Backpack and Powerpack Services again this summer in the form of SUMMERPACK. Students who are currently enrolled in our Backpack OR Powerpack program will be automatically enrolled in our Summer Pack program, unless their parent or guardian decides to opt out.


What's Summer Pack you ask? Summer Pack is a FREE summer extension of our Backpack and Powerpack Program. Hunger doesn't end at the end of the school year, and we want to ensure that students continue to be fed and nourished throughout the active and busy summertime.


Students who enroll in the Summer Pack program will receive a weekend food box delivered right to their doorstep during each month of summer break (3 boxes total). Each food pack contains well-balanced breakfast, lunch and snack items for the weekend.

Youth are eligible for this program if they are in grades K-12 and their parent/guardian are not financially able to provide enough food for them. A weekend food box will be delivered to each enrolled student's home once a month during the 3 months of summer break (3 boxes total). 1 box contains 4 food packs meant for each weekend of the month. Each food pack contains well-balanced breakfast, lunch and snack items for the weekend.

Box #1 (delivered June 9th) covers weekends of: June 10th, 17th, 24th, July 1st, 8th
Box #2 (delivered July 14th) covers weekends of: July 15th, 22nd, 29th, Aug 5th
Box #3 (delivered August 11th) covers weekends of: Aug 12th, 19th, 26th, Sep 2nd

Enroll by May 20th to receive a box on June 9th.
Enroll by June 30th to receive a box on July 14th.
Enroll by July 29th to receive a box on August 11th.
