Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Rodriguez
This week our staff Spotlight is featuring Mrs. Hannah Rodriguez, Music Teacher. This is Hannah's 4th year teaching and her most memorable moment has been every year when her students are performing on stage. Hannah graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Emphasis in Vocal Music Education).
In her spare time, Mrs. Rodriguez enjoys traveling, watching movies, and trying out new recipes. One fun fact about her is she has sung in over 15 different languages.
Mrs. Rodriguez, we are thankful to have you. Thank you for supporting our students.
Be sure to let us know when you need anyone to try a new recipe of yours!
Positivity Project
Gratitude
Dear Families,
This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Gratitude. Gratitude means you are aware of and thankful for good things that happen.
Gratitude is the quality of feelings and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world and that we have received that goodness. People with the strength of gratitude have a readiness to show appreciation for kindness and also to return kindness. A leading expert, Robert Emmons, calls gratitude a “relationship-strengthening emotion because it requires us to see how we’ve been supported and affirmed by other people.”
Out of all 24 character strengths, gratitude is the single best predictor of individual well-being. It is correlated with increased energy, empathy, happiness and optimism. And, the great thing about gratitude is that it can be intentionally cultivated. Numerous studies have concluded that gratitude is like a muscle. The more you practice it, the stronger it gets -- and the more you’re able to reap its benefits.
To practice and encourage the character strength of gratitude with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2) where together you will watch a video, read a quote and talk about the answers to three questions.
Have a wonderful week!

Volunteer
Tarpey encourages parents/guardians and other members of the community to share their time, knowledge and abilities with our students. Community volunteers in our schools enrich the educational program, contribute to school safety, and strengthen our schools’ relationships with the community. Please see volunteer application link below.
Dress Code
Please help your child abide by Clovis Unified's Dress Code Policy. The graphic below highlights a few examples of what is appropriate to wear to school. To avoid a search through our lost & found, please label additional layers of clothing, water bottles and lunch pails before sending them to school. If you have any questions regarding the dress code, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
