Summit Ridge Middle School March 2023
Learner Profile: BalancedFor the month of March, Summit Ridge will be highlighting what it means to be a “Balanced” learner. As an IB school, we encourage students to join new clubs and try new electives. We also offer choice in how students share their learning.
To promote "Balanced" learners at home, parents or guardians can create schedules that allow for school work, physical activity, the arts or any activity that the student might be interested in. Parents can model the importance of having a balanced life and provide students with balanced meals. | 8th Grade Community ProjectsAll 8th grade students have begun their Community Projects and are nearing their “Take Action” portion of their projects. So far, we have seen numerous student led fundraisers and students have raised almost $900 for various non profit organizations. Make sure to check out the daily announcements to see the different projects and fundraisers taking place. | Science FairOn February 28th Summit Ridge’s Science department hosted the annual Science Fair. There were over 60 entries with students representing all three grade levels. Students submitted applications in January and conducted their experiments in February. Students entered into one of two categories Life Science/Biology or Physical Science/Chemistry/Physics. They used the Scientific Method to guide their work, and they presented their findings at the Science Fair. Congratulations to all of our winners.Their hard work and dedication paid off. |
