5th to 6th grade Middle School Parent Information

Dear 5th grade parents,

Thank you so much for the incredible attendance at course selection and braving the weather to attend. We hope you received the information you need as we begin the course selection process. Please view the video below if you need more information about each of the elective choices for 6th grade and/or couldn’t attend our course selection night. You may download the video to view it faster. Click the arrow over the lines in the top right hand corner to download it. Please email me at jstewart@burnetcisd.net if you experience issues with the video or the google form.

Once you have viewed the video and are ready to select courses, use the link below to access the form to select course choices for next year. Course selection forms are due by Friday, March 10th. You should receive an email with the selected choices so you can review at a later date.

The selection process in the spring is critical because we will be unable to accommodate schedule change requests in the fall once school begins. Students will need to select their electives carefully this spring.

If you have any questions, please contact us at the following email address

We look forward to working with both you and your student this coming school year!

Jennifer Stewart, Principal

Give a Staff Shout Out to RJ Staff

As an initiative of the Strategic Planning Process, Burnet CISD is excited to unveil Staff Shout Outs!

  • Have you experienced great customer service from a Burnet CISD employee?
  • Has a Burnet CISD worker gone the extra mile in supporting you in some way?
  • Has a staff member at RJ demonstrated exceptional service or dedication to meeting your needs?

If so, we want to hear about it!

A Shout Out is a special recognition that acknowledges a District staff member who has demonstrated a special effort, an outstanding job, caring customer service, a project of high-quality workmanship, a team mentality, and/or is helping students CRAFT the FUTURE.

Anyone can submit a Staff Shout Out recognizing ANY one of our outstanding staff members.

The Staff Shout Out form can be found at the following link: Shout Outs!

*Staff Shouts Outs will be posted online and shared with staff each week.

RJR Spirit, Pride & Honor with Class & Campus Brag Boards

RJ Bulldogs Show Spirit, Pride & Honor

For this 5th Six-Weeks, we are continuing to promote making great choices with our Bulldogs for high-quality work and behavior!

Each week, we will share the classrooms that have filled up their bragboards and added their class name to our campus brag board, allowing us to get one step closer to a school-wide reward!

CONGRATULATIONS to these classes that have filled up their class Brag-Boards so far this six-weeks;

3rd grade: Beckner, Bell, Chapa, Garcia, Sappington

4th grade: Dillard, Floyd & VanKlavern

5th grade: McCollum

RJ is Rocking Reflex Math Growth & Reading Groups

Growth & Progress Update:

  • *At the end of February, our RJ Bulldogs have already solved 2.8 million facts this year!
  • 3rd-5th grade students have grown from 23.4% fluency to 66.9% fact fluent!
  • We have a 77,300 fluency gain with math facts at RJ Richey so far and we aren't stopping there!

We LOVE seeing the progress & growth our Bulldogs are making by staying committed to their growth goals and working daily with our math program, Reflex & Frax!

We LOVE seeing our students collaborating with their classmates in small groups to grow reading skills and respond to what they read!

Keep it up Bulldogs and Parents, don't forget to ask your child about the progress they are making daily to meet, exceed, and crush their learning goals!

Student Badges @ RJ Richey

STUDENT BADGES ON BACKPACKS

Please help your child keep his/her school issued student badge attached to the backpack, and that the backpack comes to school every day. Badges are used during breakfast for meals. They also help with campus safety.

Students who do not have their badge with them at breakfast have less time to enjoy their meal each day due to the delay it causes to type in numbers as they go through the breakfast line. Please help you child have their badge each day.
