A Message from the Superintendent
I would like to thank everyone for the part that we have all played in concluding another successful school year in Spring Hill ISD. Great school districts are a result of great communities working together in order to assure that our students are equipped with the skills needed for success.
After visiting with Mr. Robinett, he informed me that our high school students qualified for more than 200 spots at state competitions this school year. Spring Hill obtained state championships with our robotics team and with Lexi Penn, who won the girls singles tennis title. This type of representation at state level competitions is an extraordinary accomplishment for our district and a reflection of the dedication from our students, employees, parents and the support from our community.
Please don’t forget about our 20:5 reading program. We are challenging our students to read for 20 minutes a day five times a week in order to avoid the summer slide. For our primary and intermediate students it is critical during these early stages of development to become fluent readers. Remember to post a picture of your kids and their books on our Friday Facebook post.
As students begin their summer vacation I would like to leave you with one thought. I hope you are able to spend as much quality time with your kids as possible this summer. I think now more than any time in history our kids need direct communication and contact with their parents. With the rapid growth of technology in our society, I often find it difficult to grab my own kids attention in order to spend this time with them. I’m afraid that if we don’t make it a priority to spend time with our kids then the world of technology and the internet is more than willing to raise our kids for us.

SHHS Student Council Earns Statewide Recognition
Congratulations to the Spring Hill High School Student Council as they earned statewide recognition for outstanding achievement in leadership, service, and activities that serve to improve the school and community.
Spring Hill High School has been recognized by the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) in the areas of Outstanding Student Council; Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and
Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism; and Energy and Environment as well as for submission of its Community Service Report.
SHHS has also been recognized as a Sweepstakes Council. Sweepstakes councils must be recognized as an Outstanding Student Council and receive outstanding recognition in Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism; and Energy and Environment as well as submitting a Community Service Report. Fewer than 20% of TASC member schools are recognized in one or more areas, so this is quite an accomplishment of which our school can be proud.
Way to go SHHS StuCo!! #BetterInBlue
