SPRING BOOK FAIR 2023
Parent Newsletter Bookfair message
The bookfair is BACK with our Spring BOGO event! That’s right: buy-one-get-one-free (second title must be equal or lesser value). Please note: online bookfair purchases do not qualify for BOGO pricing. The bookfair is from April 27th through May 5th.
Fair Preview and Wish-lists
Students in grades 2-5 will conduct a virtual tour of the book fair and begin their wish-lists during library class prior to the starting date. Their wish-lists will then be sent home for parents/guardians to review and make the final decisions on what to buy.
Students in grades Pre-k through 1st will be given the virtual tour of titles, however, because they require one-on-one selection assistance, they will not start their wish-lists at school. Wish-lists for grades pre-k through 1st will be sent home no later than Friday, April 14th.
You can also view the catalog from our bookfair homepage by selecting this link https://www.scholastic.com/bf/muddelementaryschool.
E-Wallet
If you’re short on cash or feel uncomfortable sending your child to school with cash, create an eWallet by visiting our bookfair homepage: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/muddelementaryschool. You can add money virtually, and your child is ready with his/her money on bookfair day. You can even create a link to your child’s eWallet so friends and relatives can add money to it as well.
If your child has money left over from the last bookfair’s eWallet, it is now a Scholastic gift card. Gift card money can be transferred to a new eWallet for this fair.
Volunteers
Would you like to volunteer? Students will need help finding items on their wish-lists, making selections within their budget and counting their money. We’ll also need help with set-up and break-down of their fair. All volunteers will receive a complimentary book from the fair. To volunteer, please email bookfair coordinator: Mrs. Wall at jwall@ccboe.com or Mrs. Smallwood at lsmallwood@ccboe.com. We really appreciate your involvement.
Family Night
If you want to shop as a family, we will host our bookfair family night on May 2, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
We are so excited for this event! We hope you are too. See you there!
FINE ARTS NIGHT
FYI.....CLASSROOM CELEBRATIONS
We would love to celebrate your child's birthday with them in their classroom. Birthday treats are welcomed but we have some new guidelines that must be followed. Effective February 1, 2022, cupcakes will no longer be allowed as a birthday treat to provide to your child's classroom. The health and safety of our student's is our priority and with the various allergies, we are unable to allow cupcakes. Below are some great examples of both food and non-food ideas to select from. Each item below must be pre-packaged. Below are some healthy ideas. Thank you for helping us to keep a healthy & happy classroom & school. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these guidelines, please call the school administration at 301-753-1762.
