Caldwell Update
May 2022
A Message from Ms. Massey
Hello Caldwell Parents/Guardians,
It's hard to believe that we are in May and that means the end of this academic school year is quickly approaching. We have great things coming up for our Caldwell Cats so let's finish this school year strong! Celebrations begin with Teacher Appreciation Week, one of our favorite times! We appreciate all of our parents for showing your appreciation to our teacher and staff.
Our students in grades 3rd-5th will be taking the STAAR tests. The dates of the tests are May 10-12. STAAR make-up testing will take place May 13-20. As a reminder, visitors are not allowed in our school during the state assessments’ week as every staff member in our building will be involved with tests administrations in some way or another. Thank you in advance for your understanding
On May 19, we are celebrating our 5th graders with a special graduation ceremony at 5:00pm. Kindergartners through 4th grade students will celebrate their end of year accomplishments throughout the week of May 16-19. Teachers will be sending specific communication pertaining to their grade level celebration.
Our last day of school is Friday, May 20. Please mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher on August 8 from 4:30-6:00 pm and our first day back to school August 10th. We cannot wait to see the excitement of our students as they return back to school.
Thank you for a great year! We hope you and your families enjoy a fun and relaxing summer vacation.
Sincerely,
Karla Massey, Principal

Counselor's Corner
This month our character trait is Cooperation, which means working together and helping others.
Here are some conversation starters you can have with your child at home:
Sometimes you just feel like doing things all by yourself. What is something that someone can do to help you to get into the spirit of Cooperation?
When we are working with others, it can be tough when a teammate is not cooperating. How do you deal with that frustration? What can you say to the teammate to tell them how you feel?
May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

We are unable to store any medications at the school during the summer and will dispose of all medicine left after the last day of school.
