TONIGHT! Parent Information Meeting at PAC
Who: 8th to 11th Grade Parents and Students
Date: Monday, February 29, 2016 @ 6:00pm
Where: Plattsburg High School Performing Arts Center
WHAT: There will be an informational presentation for parents and students in 8th-11th grade to help you understand high school graduation requirements, learn more about scheduling high school courses, personal plans of study, dual credit courses, and recommendations for college bound student information. PHS counselor, Sandi Ogden and PHS principal, Ryan Beatty, will be available to answer questions. This is a great opportunity to be proactive and ensure your child is successful in high school and beyond!

Meet the 2016-17 CCMS Principal, Karri Kirkendoll
When not at school, Mrs. Kirkendoll enjoys spending time with her husband, a veteran and Apache helicopter mechanic at Whiteman AF Base and her son, a senior at the University of Central Missouri. Her hobbies include gardening, camping, riding her KTM, attending football games at K-State and spending time with her spoiled rotten hound dogs.
She will remain the Special Services Director, in addition to her roll as CCMS Principal. Mrs. Kirkendoll will begin her doctorate in May and she is extremely excited about her role for next year.
HILLYARD TECHNICAL CENTER STUDENTS SUCCEED IN COMPETITION
Hillyard Technical Center enrolls approximately 500 SkillsUSA members annually. Nationwide, there are more than 335,000 student, advisor, alumni and lifetime members in 52 state and territorial associations. SkillsUSA has served more than 11.2 million members since its founding in 1965.
SkillsUSA is an applied method of instruction for preparing America’s high performance workers in public career and technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work—high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free-enterprise system and involvement in community service.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education. SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA (the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
