Media is Around

Media is the life we live by

Everyday life people use different technology, resources, and media. I believe media is what we use to ensure ourselves of being right in any question from being a college student to a chef in a five start restaurant. Media can mean anything such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, books, internet, magazines, news, television, and etc. Plenty of people use media every day, weekly, and monthly in their lives. It can be a good and bad source in certain ways you use the media. The media helps us to regulate the knowledge we have in a sense to share it with others in the correct format. It can affect us by giving us the wrong source or the wrong impression. For example, many students go on Google if they have a question over something they don’t get. Media Literate is basically we use as social networks able to communicate with others if we can’t in person. It brings people together in way we can share what we know. Many people use different ways to understand each other. For example, texting can be hard for anyone to always be correct on what they have to say so instead young teens created a format to text easily like txt (text), lol (laugh out loud), brb (be right back), and etc. It’s the way we created to be called the trend of life on the media. We all communicate differently; it’s like when a person is from the south they have the “southern accent”, then when someone from the north they tend to have a “New Yorker accent”.

Microsoft in its 2014 Super Bowl commercial empowers its audience by demonstrating many different ways that we can do anything with technology. Microsoft supports their statement by illustrating many divergent situations where technology has helped someone overcome major feats in their lives, such as helping a blind man see and helping a deaf girl hear. Microsoft’s purpose is to convince the audience that almost any problem can be overcome with a helping hand, and it has the viewer believe that the helping hand is technology. The companies tone is heart-warming for people with personal problems, most likely with disabilities or long distance communication.

French Indian War

The king of England had send people to the new land to experiment the new life. The king of England did not know that people known as Native Americans live there before they came to the new land. The English settlers had no idea how to survive in the new land they called paradise for a short time of period. Once, the Native Americans knew they weren’t the only people living there. The Natives introduce themselves with great manner helped them how fish, grow plants, and how to live in the new area they are still unknown for. The English settlers became allies with the Natives they helped each other resources to stay strong to be united. Three years past they have been strong and healthy until the king haven’t been receiving any information about the success they were sent for. The king manipulated a set of soldiers to attack anyone who goes against his regulations. The soldiers arrived once they saw what the Natives and the English settler had built, they started to destroy every piece of material, killed innocent people and the people fought for their own safety. The Natives gained up with the English settlers and attack against the soldiers which the king had sent. The soldiers thought it would be easy to control, but they were overpower by the Natives and the Settlers. The main soldier called Bango asked for more soldiers to come and help to regulate the people. The king was surprise with the event he heard. So, he sent 200 soldiers to the new land to make sure the Natives and the settlers are following his orders. The fight between the king’s soldiers with the Natives and the settlers was terrible everyone was dying left to right. Many young children’s bodies were laying around. It caught the French attention. The French decided to come into the battle to help the Natives and the bit of settlers left. The Natives called for more tribes to join the fight. The French was so generous to join to fight for the natives and the bit of settlers independence from the king. The king was so upset that their worst enemy join the war. The French brought medicine, food, and their own people to help the injured natives, settlers, and french soldiers. The king had no option to fight back and keep on sending soldiers until he had to win the war. But, the French wasn’t just fighting in the new land they also were fighting in England. The king surrender the war in the new land he had plenty of soldiers dying. He sent a messenger to surrender the war because he couldn’t afford to lose more soldiers than he already had. Once, the French heard this incident they decided to leave the new land until every England soldier left and let those who decided to stay and change their life only if the Natives agreed and allowed them to stay. The Natives won their land and were able to produced more tribes and learn new ways to improve their technology and intelligence. They earn what belongs to them first.

In this war many Native Americans have been slaughter because of the land they were living in. They deserve more than a little piece of the United States because of them we have this wonderful land we expanded. They shouldn't have been treated how they were because they showed manners and welcome new people.

The World is Just Mad

The world is seen by different perspectives good, bad, being controlled, destructive but in reality its just simply a place held with people who creates these type of events. The song Mad World by Gary Jules relates to the book 1984 written by George Orwell. The book demonstrates how the government is controlling their people. The government known as Big Brother want to make the citizens of Oceania to be like robots, every single person to be equal with no difference. Just like the lyrics in the song Mad World “all around me are familiar faces, worn out places, worn out faces” all around are only people who are similar to each other. Every single person are doing the exact same thing like robots, expressionless people, tearing up from the inside. The song describes himself is seeing people around him are falling apart that there's no way of living a world in such restriction. Just like a character in the book name Winston he sees everyone do the same thing everyday in reality they are crying from the inside just to be free. For both the people to keep their feeling is writing into a dairy like Winston and the person in the song to drown his sorrows. Both Winston and the person in the song are in a Mad World.

Mad World - Gary Jules

Mad World-Gary Jules

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
mad world mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you, I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very very
Mad world, world

My Reflection of the Class

In this course of Media Literacy, I've learn different situations of life, the way our world is evolving with technology rapidly. Many people have different perspective about life, not all of them can be the same. I had learned to be independent and responsible for my actions. It made me to be open mind about unexpected events because I really didn't think some events that impact my life weren't important to me. This class has plenty of discussions that many of other peers can relate to or have an opinion. It’s fun to do it in a class. The past years I've been in school weren't fun as this class. Well, except my sophomore year I came back to PRHS in the middle of first semester I went to English class and I had Mr.Davis he was mellow about things it was a fun class when you make it. So, it’s just about how well you do in class and to stay on top of grades. Many of my other classes weren't social as this one, or had activities to do during class. Every year is either reading history, poems, learning vocabulary, and books not much a good activity to do. We read some books, but it was fun and we were able to compare it to our society or our world. I believe this class is just fine on the material we learned and how teachers thought it. Anyone can change it, but I believe it’s just fine besides the précis only do 3 out of the semester that will be fine and it will make the class better. What I am going to take from this class is the experience of taking this class and how anyone with the most horrible situation can become anything they want in the future in my case I am going to become a pediatric.
