Dear Parents,
Here's what's happening at school this week.
NWEA Testing
English
This week we will continue to work on the non-fiction writing projects. On Monday, we will celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The school spelling bee will be Tuesday, January 22 after school in the library.
We will have a quiz on Friday over this week's mentor sentence and root word.
Enrichment Writing
Math
Last week in math class, students learned how to write percents as fractions and decimals. They also learned how to write fractions as decimals and percents. They had a quiz over this at the end of the week. There were 2 homework assignments that are due on Monday. They are: page 279(2-14)/page 280(1-6) & page 285(2-14)/ & page 286(1-6).
This week, students will find the percent of a quantity and solve story problems involving percents. At the end of the week, students will continue to work with problems involving percents. They will also take the NWEA test for math.
Enrichment Math
Last week, students continued with solving algebraic equations. This week, they will learn how to solve equations with variables on both sides of the equation.
