WMS Weekly Update February 3, 2023

Good Afternoon WMS Families:

For Grade 8 Students

Washington DC 2023 Important Information

We will be holding another mandatory meeting for the Washington D.C. trip on Wednesday March 22st at 6:30 pm at AHS auditorium for all students traveling to D.C. in 2023 and their parents. This meeting will be brief, but we will be going over a few essential things at this meeting:

  • Rooming- Students can choose their roommates by filling out the attached roommate form If you are unable to choose roommates prior to the March 22nd meeting we will have time to select roommates then. Roommates do not need to be from the same middle school. Parents can upgrade to have their children in a room of two, for a cost of $135.00 total, each student. Students will not be able to room alone. Parents wanting this upgrade will need to call Customer Care at 888.310.7121 to add the rooming upgrade to their respective accounts. I’ve attached a list of students attending so they can begin thinking about who they would like to room with.

  • Student Medical Form- All parents will need to fill out the "Medical Form for Students on Domestic Overnight Trips" attached.

  • Student Receiving Medications- For students who will have to take medication during this trip:

    • Parents please fill out the “Medication Delegation Permission For Overnight Trips".

    • And you will need to have the Physician who prescribed the medication fill out a "Medication Order" form- so please reach out to the prescribing doctor prior to our March 22nd meeting.

    • Please turn these forms in prior, or bring the completed forms to the March meeting. Also, please let me know if any medication requires refrigeration, as we would need to coordinate that in advance.

  • District Travel Meeting - Tuesday March 21st 6:30 at AHS auditorium (for families looking to enroll in travel, including 2024 D.C. trip)
  • 2023 Washington D.C. Informational Meeting- Wednesday March 22nd 6:30 AHS auditorium (8th grade families currently enrolled).
  • Food Allergies or Food Restrictions- please note them on the Medical Form under Medical Concerns.

If you have completed the required paperwork (Medical Form, Roommate Form, and Medication Delegation Form) you may have your student traveler pass in the forms to: (these teachers will also have hard copies available)
