Health Related Components of Exercise

Health related components of exercise are essential to your health. Not having good health related components of exercise can result in diseases and bad conditions. There are five of them. They are body composition, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and muscular endurance.

Body Composition

Body composition is the percentage of everything your body is made of including fat, muscles, etc. BMI, or the Body Mass Index is the test used to calculate the relative weight of based on the mass and height of an individual. Body composition is essential for your health


Flexibility is the ability to stretch and bend as far as possible. To be flexible, you have to be able to stretch and warm up yourself. Gymnastics require lots of flexibility to perform all kinds of stunts.

Muscular Strength

Muscular strength is when you lift a heavy weight a few times. Weight lifters use muscular strength because they lift a heavy weight a few number of times. They are strong, but they may not have much endurance.

Muscular Endurance

Cardiovascular Endurance

Ability of heart and lungs to work together during exercise. A runner uses cardiovascular endurance because when running they need to get oxygen in and out and they need to use their heart for the running part of the excercise

Skill Related Components of Exercise

Skill related components are not something you require to be a healthy person. However, having good skill related components could help you in exercising and fitness. There are six skill related components. They are agility, speed, power, coordination, balance, and reaction time.


Balance is when you maintain equilibrium while stationary or moving.If you were a dancer you would have to work on your balance because if your a ballerina you would have to be on your tippy toes all the time and if you didn't have balance you would fall down all the time.
